What do we do?
Develop campaigns and programs to make people aware of organ donation, help them embrace organ donation, and understand that it is a fundamental human responsibility.
Research, advocate, and lobby for organ donation by publishing books, articles, and papers, organizing awareness activities, and providing necessary support to government agencies, hospitals, nonprofits, and other partners (both institutional and individual) working to promote organ donation.
Collaborate with local, regional, and international partners to achieve the organization's mission.
Provide grants, funding, and support to Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), profit-not-distributing companies, trusts, cooperatives, public-private partnerships, and/or any other welfare-oriented organizations.
Organize local, regional, and international conferences, training, workshops, and short-term courses related to the organization's mission.
Develop institutional mechanisms to inform donors, organ donors, families of organ donors, board members, other beneficiaries, and relevant stakeholders.
Advocacy
We aware people about the role of organ donation in saving lives through public awareness campaigns, interactions, media outreach, and advocacy. Our aim is to promote organ donation as a fundamental civic responsibility, thereby encouraging people to become organ donors.
Research
We engage in multi-disciplinary research to understand the underlying factors affecting organ donation, its acceptance (and reluctance) in Nepali society, and other aspects supporting or constraining organ donation in Nepal. We plan to share our research with relevant stakeholders.
Collaboration
We collaborate with local, regional, and international medical/public health professionals, hospitals, agencies, nonprofit organizations, public institutions and private organizations to promote organ donation as a fundamental civic responsibility.
Programs (Advocacy)
We organize advocacy and awareness programs related to organ donation. Some of our programs include:
seminars about organ donation and brain death for medical professionals throughout Nepal.
public awareness programs like forums, virtual discussions, street plays (etc.) on organ donation by the deceased throughout Nepal.
School to School Advocacy Program to promote organ donation among future organ donors.
Programs (Research)
We collaborate with researchers, and scholars to produce knowledge related to organ donation in Nepal, its opportunities, and challenges. We also bridge the gap between donors and researchers to develop local knowledge and disseminate locally created knowledge related to organ donation with relevant stakeholders like medical professionals, public health advocates, community leaders/members and the general public.
Programs (Collaboration)
Nepal Organ Donation Foundation (NODF) is a platform to promote organ donation as a fundamental civic responsibility so that no person suffering from organ failure has to die because of not getting a lifesaving organ. We collaborate with various stakeholders including media, grant makers, funders, medical professionals, hospitals, public health organizations, and nonprofit organizations, to promote organ donation in Nepal. Please contact us if you want to collaborate with us.
